Shatara meets head of the Southern Independent Commission to Combat Corruption

Member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly for Oversight and Inspection, Lutfi Shatara, met, on Wednesday, at the headquarter of the National Assembly in Aden the capital, Dr. Zaid Qassem Thabet, Head of the Independent Southern Commission to Combat Corruption.

The meeting discussed ways of cooperation between the National Assembly and the Independent Southern Commission for Anti-Corruption with a specific vision in strengthening the oversight work to reveal the deficiencies in government institutions and facilities, as well as defining a joint working mechanism in accordance with the outputs of decisions and recommendations issued by the third session of the National Assembly held in the period (13 – 15 January 2020) ).

The Vice-President of the Assembly stressed on the need to establish integral cooperation between the National Assembly and the Commission, to strengthen the principle of oversight and to reveal the sources of corruption that contributed to bringing the situation in the south to where it is today
