Major General Bin Brik and Lamlas meet with Coalition leadership and Saudi coordination team to implement Riyadh Agreement

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Braik, Acting President of the Transitional Council and Chairman of the National Assembly, and Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council, the Governor of the capital Aden, met on Saturday at the headquarters of the Arab Coalition in Aden the capital, with the commander of the Arab coalition forces in the capital Aden Nayef Al-Otaibi, and the Saudi Coordination Team for the Implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, headed by Major General Mohammad al-Rubaie.

At the meeting, Major General Bin Brik and Lamlas expressed appreciation for the role and efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom and their standing by our people in the face of Iran’s expansion projects through its arm in Yemen; the Houthi group, stressing that the Kingdom is the strategic depth of the South and its permanent support.

Bin Brik and Lamlas expressed their aspiration for more support for what can achieve our people’s aspirations for a free and dignified life, reaffirming that the Transitional Council seeks peace and works to restore it, and puts the citizens’ needs at the top of its priorities.

Bin Brik and Lamlas reviewed during the meeting the efforts made by the Southern Transitional Council to implement the Riyadh Agreement and the mechanism for its acceleration, noting that the Southern Transitional Council had completed the delivery of all plans required to implement the agreed mechanism, including the separation of forces in Abyan governorate and their transfer to the fronts, as well as transferring military forces outside the capital, Aden.

In turn, Lamlas referred to the steps that have been implemented on the ground by raising military appearances and points from some areas of Aden the capital, to get Aden once again back to its peaceful appearance and civil face, in addition to efforts to stabilize the necessary and important services related to the life of the citizens in general.

For his part, the Commander of the Arab Coalition Forces and the Chairman of the Saudi Military Committee expressed their warm welcome to Major General Bin Brik and the Governor Lamlas and their happiness for this visit, thanking the leadership of the Transitional Council for their cooperation and positive response to the success of the Riyadh Agreement.

The commander of the Arab coalition forces and the head of the Saudi Military Committee affirmed the kingdom’s keenness to bring peace to Yemen, noting that “the Kingdom’s leadership pays great attention to Aden and the liberated southern governorates, and there is a package of important development projects that will make a remarkable shift in the economic life of these provinces.”

The two sides affirmed their eagerness to implement the agreement and work on everything that would achieve peace, and pave the way for the return of the government after its announcement, the start of the wheel of construction and development, and unification of efforts in the face of the Houthi militia.

The two parties discussed the level of progress in implementing the Riyadh Agreement, the mechanism for its acceleration, and ways to unify efforts to reach the comprehensive political process, given that the Riyadh Agreement is the cornerstone upon which to build for the achievement of comprehensive peace in the South and Yemen.
