Transitional Council Presidency commends its delegation’s visit to Russia and warns of Brotherhood’s scheme against Riyadh Agreement

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held on Saturday, its weekly periodic meeting, headed by Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Council Presidency.

The Presidency reviewed developments on local and international arenas related to the situation in the South and Yemen, as well as the monthly analytical report of the Support and Making Decision Center, submitted by Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Kholaki, Vice President of the Center.

In this context, the Presidency commended the visit of the Council’s delegation headed by the President of the Council, President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, to the Federal Republic of Russia, appreciating its important results that will contribute to strengthening the Council’s relationship with the Russian Federation and will open the way to strengthen its role as a key and active party in resolving the crisis, and consolidate its relations with other countries that are active players in international decision-making on southern and Yemeni affairs.

The Presidency reiterated the Council’s welcome to the decision of the US administration, headed by Mr. Joseph Biden, to appoint an envoy for it to Yemen, confirming the Transitional Council’s readiness to cooperate with him to make his mission successful in achieving peace in the region, reaffirming in the same context that the issue of the South is the focus of the crisis, and it is the only way to establish comprehensive peace in the region, the South, and Yemen, stressing in this regard, that any solutions that do not accommodate the variables on the southern land, and the achievements of the people of the South and the sacrifices of their people to restore their state will not succeed.

The meeting dealt with the latest developments in Tor Al-Baha district in Lahj governorate, and the Brotherhood’s continuation of its plan to divert the course of its supposed battle with the Houthi militia in Taiz governorate, with which it shares, harmoniously, control over the streets of its capital, thus opening a new battle against the South instead of confronting the Houthi militia, as it intensified recently the creation of new roads and sites along the southern city of Tor Al-Baha, with the continued withdrawal of its forces, weapons and personnel from the lines of contact with the Houthi militia and transferring them to these sites and the continuation of recruiting their supporters with funding from Brotherhood leaders influential with power to push them and mobilize them in the new sites with the aim of detonating a new front against the south on Its western borders.

In this regard, the Presidency affirmed that our southern forces are fully prepared to respond and forcefully to defend the south, appreciating the principled position of the tribes and people of Sabiha in general and their defense alongside our Southern armed forces to protect the southwestern borders and thwart any attempt to penetrate them.

The Presidency also stood before the government’s performance and the efforts of the Muslim Brotherhood figures in power, who were harmed by the presence of the government in the capital Aden, to implement the Riyadh Agreement and the official and popular southern support for its success, warning that these Brotherhood symbols do set obstacles not only to obstruct the government from performing its duties to implement the agreement; it is also trying to tighten the screws on it during the exercise of its duties from Aden the capital to force it to leave it, in order to thwart the Riyadh Agreement and achieve its goal of folding its pages.

Regarding internal affairs, the meeting discussed a number of organizational and administrative issues related to the work of the Council’s bodies, in which the Presidency took the necessary action in this regard.
