The General Secretariat reviews latest developments in political scene and performance of public and human rights departments

The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held on Monday, its periodic meeting chaired by Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, the Deputy Secretary-General.

Before the opening of the meeting, the attendees stood for a minute of silence to read Surat Al-Fatiha for the soul of the deceased Dr. Najeeb Salman, Head of the Studies and Researches Department, who passed away on Saturday.

About the late Dr. Najeeb Salman, Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi expressed deep feelings of sadness for losing Dr. Najeeb, especially his important role in this important stage. Al-Jaadi added, “With the demise of Dr. Najeeb Salman, we lost a voice that had a political and social influence that cannot be underestimated.”

After that, the meeting reviewed the report of the weekly activities of the General Secretariat departments during the past week.

The meeting also reviewed the political scene report submitted by the political department, which reviewed in a comprehensive reading on the most important political issues and developments related to the southern arena, especially since the announcement of the 50\50 government and the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement and what have been implemented of it and what has not been implemented yet.

The report dealt with the political effects of the deteriorating economic situation of the country, represented by the decline in the local currency exchange, and the crisis of oil derivatives, and the poor services, especially the electricity crisis, in addition to a number of other political issues and developments related to the situation in the South.

The meeting also reviewed a report on the performance of the people department , and human rights department for the period January 2021 until the date of the meeting, and the organizational performance and remarkable achievements that the two departments made within the framework of their specialization during the aforementioned period.

The meeting also touched on the latest political, economic, service and security developments in Aden the capital and other southern governorates, in which the attendees presented their proposals on a number of issues related to the workflow of the executive departments and bodies in the governorates, the difficulties they face, and the available resolutions to overcome these difficulties and challenges.
