The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, chaired today, Saturday, a joint meeting of the Planning and Investment Committee of the National Assembly, and the Finance Department of the General Secretariat of the Council’s Presidency.
In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed all the attendees, praising all the efforts they have made during the past period.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed the need to redouble efforts and coordinate work between the Planning and Investment Committee in the National Assembly and the Finance Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, in a way that serves and enhances the decisions of the Supreme Economic Committee.
In the meeting, the attendees presented a number of perceptions and proposals, including proposed future regulations for the desired state of the South, as well as strengthening the economic work by organizing workshops for the fish sector, also conducting a comprehensive analysis on market and prices, and fish canning project, and re-operating the cotton gin in Abyan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, they presented a proposal on unifying the work of the competent authorities in the council bodies, as well as activating Al-Kode Agricultural Research Center, and the necessity of investing in the mineral wealth of the South, and restoring factories, their sites, and reactivating them, in addition to the division of economic institutions, and activating unions to supervise and monitor state institutions.
