A symposium was held in the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council on Thursday, entitled “The National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council between Reality and Challenges”, delivered by Dr. Asmahan Mardov bin Brik, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Aden, Member of the Board of Directors of the Higher Judicial Institute, in the presence of Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, and Dr. Anis Luqman, vice chairman of the National Assembly and members of the Assembly’s administrative board.
At the beginning of the lecture, Major General Bin Brik conveyed to the Administrative Board of the National Assembly the greetings of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, and the praises of the Presidency on the topics discussed and the decisions issued by the meeting of the Administrative Board of the Assembly on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
After that, Dr. Asmahan Bin Brik, presented a clear constitutional vision to activate the role and work of the Assembly’s permanent committees and their oversight role, combating corruption in state agencies, and proposals for preparing for any institutional or governmental absence.
At the end of the symposium, the discussion was opened to clarify some tasks related to the National Assembly in particular and the Southern Transitional Council in general, and its relationship with the legitimate government.
A committee was formed by the Chairman of the National Assembly consisting of some of the heads of the committees in the Assembly, in order to prepare a vision for organizing the work and submit it to the Presidency as a proposal from the National Assembly.
