President Al-Zubaidi during his meeting with American mission: Serving interests of people of the South and achieving their aspirations outlines priorities of STC

The President of the Southern Transitional Council )STC(, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, President Aidaros Al-Zubaidi, affirmed that STC was created for the people in the South and bears its aspirations, and that those aspirations and goals are what define the priorities and strategies of the work of STC, stressing that reforming the economic and service situation is at the forefront of the current priorities, as it also affirms its commitment to preserving the interests and rights of the people of the South in deciding their political future.

This came during the meeting of President Al-Zubaidi, on Wednesday evening , at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the Acting USA Ambassador to Yemen, Mr. Christopher Deutsch.

In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi reviewed the latest developments in the political, military and economic conditions in the South and Yemen, foremost of which are developments in the governorates of Shabwa and Hadhramout, developments in the economic situation and ways to reach real solutions that enhance economic stability to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi stressed that the leadership of STC pays special attention to the economic file, stressing the importance of intensifying efforts by the Arab coalition, and the five permanent members and the international community to save our people from the repercussions of the worsening economic crisis, praising the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and their brotherly positions in support of the return of security and stability to our country.

President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi renewed the Southern Transitional Council’s support for the government of power-sharing, stressing the importance of conducting deep reforms in financial and economic institutions in accordance with the outcomes of the Riyadh Agreement, calling on to stand by the government and support it to carry out its duties in serving the citizens.

For his part, Mr. Christopher Deutsch expressed his thanks and gratitude for the positive stance of the Southern Transitional Council that supports the government of power-sharing, and enabling it to carry out its tasks from the capital, Aden, stressing his country’s keenness to support the government’s efforts to revive the deteriorating economic situation and restore security and stability to the country.

In his meeting with President Al-Zubaidi, Mr. Christopher Deutsch reiterated his country’s support for the completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement and its support for the government’s efforts to revive the economic situation and reform economic institutions to enable them to fulfill their obligations to citizens.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Chris Coles, official in charge for the political and economic file in the US Embassy, and from STC side Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, Head of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs in the Transitional Council, and Anis Al-Sharafi, Head of the Political Affairs and Planning Department at the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs, and Ali Al-Hadayani, Press and Media Secretary to President Al-Zubaidi.
