Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), at headquarters of the Assembly, on Wednesday morning, met with Mr. Abu Bakr Salem Ba-Obaid, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital, Aden.
In the meeting, they discussed the economic conditions and skyrocketing prices in the food basic commodities which have negatively affected the life of citizens, as well as the ways to control day-to-day movement of such daily rise in prices.
The meeting also discussed the ways to promote the role of investment; therefore its benefits can positively be poured into the capital, Aden, so that it can boost and restore its leading role in various fields.
This meeting stood before certain difficulties and obstacles hinder performance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ways to solve and ease such hinderance to cope up with the upcoming stages.
To the end of the meeting, Mr. Abu Bakr referred to the crisis that will affect the economic situation in the country due to the severe depletion of wheat stocks as a result of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, wishing cooperation from the government and competent authorities to reach quick and effective solutions.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmed Qassem, Director of Office of Chairman of the Assembly.
