President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the president of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Deputy head of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Monday, at his office, in the capital Aden, met with Dr. Ishraq Al-Suba’i, assistant undersecretary of the population sector in the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Bishi, Director General of the Office of Health and Population in the capital, Aden.
The president, initially, listened from Dr. Ishraq Al-Al-Suba’i to a brief explanation on the activities of the population sector in the Ministry of Health and the programs implemented by this sector within its scope, foremost of which is reproductive health, and maternal and child care, in addition to programs to be implemented in the upcoming period.
In this context, President Al-Zubaidi emphasized the need to redouble efforts, and intensify communication with donors and international organizations that help and assist the population sector to get more support to hospitals, complexes and specialized centers, as well as to provide the sector with competencies, expertises and young people with educational qualifications who are able to advance the sector and enhance its role in all districts of the capital Aden and other governorates.
Then, President Al-Zubaidi was briefed from Dr. Ahmed Al-Bishi on the progressing work in the health and population office in the capital, Aden, and the most prominent difficulties encountering its workflow, foremost of which is the deterioration of infrastructure, the lack of well-qualified staff, further to several suggestions and ideas that contribute to advance the health sector in the capital, Aden.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of operating all the facilities and units of the health office, foremost of which is the planning unit, and raising all the requirements and needs of the health sector in the capital, Aden, in the aspect of rehabilitation of infrastructure and medical equipment to the ministry, to expeditiously make it available.
The meeting touched on the situation of Aden Public Hospital, which was rehabilitated by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program (SDRP), and the latest ongoing preparations to launch the work in its first stage, where the President stressed the importance of communication and coordination with the operating company to choose the best and well-qualified medical competencies and cadres in line with the status and importance of this medical edifice.
To the end of the meeting, Dr. Ishraq Al-Suba’i and Dr. Al-Bishi valued the keenness that President Al-Zubaidi attaches to the health sector, and his continuous support and assistance to the officials of the ministry and its offices in the governorates to provide the best health care to citizens.
