The STC Welcomes the Egyptian Navys Assumption of the CMF (153) Command

The Southern Transitional Council (STC) welcomes the Egyptian Navy’s assumption of the Combined Maritime Force (CMF) (153) command to confront threats and challenges targeting the security and stability of the entire region and to complement the active Egyptian participation in the CMF, whose mission is to combat smuggling and counter illegal activities, particularly terrorist activities in the Red Sea, al-Mandab Strait, and Gulf of Aden.

The STC welcomes this step while affirming that Egypt’s assumption of the force command is based on its pivotal role in securing the region and the navigation waterways and combating terrorism and piracy in a way that enhances regional and international peace and security.
