STCs Supreme Committee for Legal Affairs Boosts Establishing SBA

The Supreme Committee for Legal Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Thursday, chaired by Prof. Dr. Saad Mohammed Saad, head of the committee, during which it boosted the formation of the South Bar Association (SBA).

The meeting stressed the importance of establishing the SBA to deal with the affairs of the legal profession and defend the rights of lawyers, due to the significance of this profession as the body of public prosecutors and the legal backing of the judiciary to get to the truth.

The committee recommends that the Bar Association in the capital, Aden, assume the responsibility of issuing and renewing licences to practise the legal profession of lawyers in the governorates of the South in which there are no branches of the association or those that have ceased performing tasks, until those branches are formed through the establishment of the South Bar Association.

The meeting, too, reviewed the remaining topics on its agenda and took the appropriate measures
