President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Tuesday evening with a number of security officials, military commanders, and political personalities from the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the military commanders, who were attended with Brigadier General Ali Al-Gabwani, head of the local leadership executive body of Shabwa Governorate, Brigadier General Ali Naser Al-Dheeb Ba Azab; known as “Abu Misha’al Al-Kazmi”, Security Director of Abyan governorate, and several security officials and military commanders in the governorate, Brigadier General Abdul-Latif al-Sayed, commander of the Security Belt Forces in the Abyan Delta, and Colonel Mahdi Hantoush, Commander of the Coast Belt Forces, and Brigadier General Ahmed Mansour Al-Marqashi, Commander of the 185th Brigade, and Brigadier General Mazen Al-Junaidi, Commander of the 2nd Brigade, Support Forces in Abyan, commending their efforts in establishing security in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa, and their effective roles in the military campaign “Arrow of the East” and “Arrows of the South”, which culminated in defeating the elements of terrorism and extremism from their strongholds in Abyan and Shabwa.
Likewise, President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of intensifying efforts and integrating security and military roles to consolidate security and stability and backing local authorities in the two governorates to execute the assigned tasks in providing public services to citizens and preserving their interests.
Similarly, the president reaffirmed the importance of the unity of the southern ranks and the strengthening of the state of national cohesiveness and rapprochement in all the governorates of the South, paving the way for a new phase in which all the people of the South will assume the responsibility of drawing the future of their homeland on the base of the South for and by all its people.
For their part, the attendees of the security and military commanders offered their thanks for all the efforts made by President Al-Zubaidi to support the security and military forces in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa so they could properly implement the assigned tasks, valuing his xerted efforts to normalize the situation in the two governorates.
The meeting was attended by the leader of the Southern Movement, Mr. Khaled Musa’ed.
