Economic and Service Commission Holds First Meeting and Discusses Major Mandated Tasks 

The Economic and Service Commission (ESC) of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its first meeting today, Thursday, in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Murad Al-Halimi, head of the ESC.

The ESC devoted its meeting to discussing developments in the economic and service situation and the urgent requirements to be taken in order to provide basic services and decent living standards for citizens, as well as the major tasks entrusted to the Commission that must be focused on in the upcoming period.

The meeting asserted that the ESC is concerned with drawing up general policies for economic development and social welfare, creating an investment milieu, and determining priorities for development and service projects while setting general lines for development and economic empowerment to assist the leadership of the STC in taking decisions that ensure implementation.

The meeting reviewed the significant reports previously discussed and submitted to the Presidium of the STC, as well as suggestions and recommendations that would contribute to overcoming any negatives that may have accompanied the work during the previous period.
