President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), paid a visit on Tuesday to inspect the progress of the construction work on a 120 MW solar power plant provided by the brotherly United Arab Emirates to support the generating capacity of the electricity of the capital, Aden, with clean and renewable energy.
It took place during a visit his excellency made to the project site in Bir Ahmed, accompanied by the Minister of State, Governor of the Capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Lamlas, where the president was received by the Minister of Electricity, Eng. Manea bin Yammine, and the engineering and consultant staff supervising the project.
President Al-Zubaidi listened to a satisfied explanation from Mr. David, the representative of the Austrian consulting company that is implementing the project, and the engineers supervising it, about the project phases, its components, the percentage of completion at each phase, the quality and specifications of the materials used in the project, which are compatible with the highest internationally approved standards, in addition to the time period for entering the station into service.
After that, President Al-Zubaidi toured the site of the station, which is being built on a total area of 1.6 million square meters, expressing his satisfaction with the high pace of completion of the drilling, concreting short piles, installation array tables, cable laying, and transfor stations, stressing the importance of maintaining this pace, expediting the completion of the remaining phases, and operating the station to alleviate the suffering of the people of the capital, Aden.
At the end of his visit, the president expressed gratitude to the brotherly United Arab Emirates, represented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their incessant support in pushing the wheel of development in the capital, Aden, and our homeland in general.
The President was accompanied on his visit by Major General Kamal Hamshari, member of the STC’s Presidium and office head of the President of the STC, and Mr. Emad Mohammed, office head of the Vice President of the PLC.
