Major General Bin Brik discusses with Money Exchange Association currency deterioration and mechanisms for solving it

Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Council, President of the Self-Administration of the South, met on Wednesday, with the Money Exchange Association in the capital Aden, to discuss the problem of the deterioration of the value of the local currency, and the mechanisms to solve it.

In the meeting attended by Attorney Niran Sooki, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council and Vice-Chairman of the Assembly, Major General Bin Brik, stressed on the important role assigned to the Money Exchange Association to play to support self-administration.

For his part, the President of the Supreme Economic Committee of the Transitional Council, member of the Self-Administration Dr. Abdul Salam Homaid, presented the economic obstacles facing the Committee and the necessity of integration in economic work between the Self-Administration and the Money Exchange Association, which is one of the most important pillars of economic work, especially in the current situation.

For his part, the president of the Money Exchange Association, Saleh Awad Saleh, stressed on the society’s full support for Self-Administration, reviewing in the context the obstacles facing the money changers in fixing the foreign exchange rate, foremost of which is the Central Bank’s insistence and rejection of all the proposals presented by the society in this regard.

The President of the Money Exchange Association pointed out that the bank is working to inflate financial dues on exchange companies, in conjunction with the depletion of foreign currencies from the local market in the absence of sources to enter the foreign currency into the country.
