The Deputy Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, met on Monday, at the headquarter of the General Secretariat in the capital Aden, with Mr. Marwan Al-Ali, Director of the Office of the UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths.
The meeting reviewed developments in the political situation and the formation of a power-sharing government between the south and the north, which came as a result of the efforts made by the Arab coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which sponsored the negotiations.
In this regard, the Deputy Secretary-General clarified that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council is keen to ensure the success of the government tasks, indicating that the Southern Transitional Council will do everything in its power to support it and its success to improve the living situation and maintain security and public tranquility for citizens.
For his part, Mr. Marwan Al-Ali expressed his happiness with the formation of the government, as it is considered a key point in the peace process, appreciating the efforts of the Southern Transitional Council in implementing the Riyadh Agreement, and praising the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in sponsoring the agreement and the mechanism for its acceleration, wishing the new government success in performing its tasks.
