The National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held on Tuesday its periodic meeting, chaired by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, member of the Presidium of the STC and head of NSMA.
The meeting discussed the importance of the southern consultative meeting at this defining moment towards the national entitlement to restore the state of the South, which comes as a culmination of a series of meetings conducted by the southern national dialogue team (SNDT), which is scheduled to be held next Thursday in the capital, Aden.
Mr. Al-Kathiri reviewed the expected outcomes that would result from that meeting, the most important of which is the Southern National Pact, and shaped the future of the State of the South in accordance with the needs of the people, as this major event represents a promotion of achieving the aspirations of the people of the South, touching on the role of the media, which will positively and actively contribute to the grand success of this meeting in a manner that equates its valuable importance.
The meeting, which was attended by the head of the Southern Journalists and Media Syndicate, Mr. Aidaroos Bahashwan, and an elite of the southern media professionals, called on the media to seek credibility in dealing with news and information, not to stir up sedition, and to work to raise awareness in a way that serves the public interests of our great people of the South.
Al-Kathiri listened to members of the Board of NSMA who gave a summary of the achievements and practical activities that were carried out during the first quarter of 2023, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
