At the headquarters of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), in the capital, Aden, a ceremony of handing over and acknowledgment of job assignment took place on Thursday between Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), former head of NSMA, and Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, the current head of NSMA, by decree No. (3) of this year 2023 from President Aidarous bin Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, in the presence of Mr. Kamal Hamshari, member of the STC’s presidium, Head of the Handover and reception Body, and Mr. Abdullah Saleh, Head of the Administrative and Financial Department in the Secretariat General, Committee member.
At the beginning of the ceremony, which was attended by the members of the Board of the NSMA, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri delivered a speech in which he welcomed all the attendees and gave a brief summary of the NSMA’s tasks, its various sectors, and its roles, wishing all success to Mr. Al-Awlaki in his new duties and advancing in the path of fulfilling national goals for the aspirations of the people of the South.
Likewise, Mr. Kamal Hamshari delivered a speech in which he pointed out the major tasks achieved by NSMA in its various sectors, touched on the procedures for reception and handing over of NSMA based on the decree of President Al-Zubaidi, and wished success to both Al-Kathiri and Al-Awlaki.
For his part, Mr. Salem Thabet expressed his happiness at being among the southern media elite, offered congratulations to the political leadership of the STC, represented by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, for the grand success of the consultative meeting and the decrees issued to restructure the STC, praising the efforts made by Mr. Al-Kathiri in the establishment, upgrading, and promoting of media, which represent the most important platform in communicating the voice of the South towards the restoration of the state, and looking forward to joint work in the spirit of a team to perform all plans drawn up in promoting the performance of media.
