STCs Presidium Reviews Current Developments in the Political Process

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Sunday, chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the STC.

In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by ministers of the STC in the government and the heads of the auxiliary commissions of the STC’s Presidium, the president presented a summary of the latest political developments, the efforts being made by both the countries of the region and the world to durably end the war and bring about peace in the country, and developments related to the political process and its phases.

The Presidium reiterated its welcome of the initiatives and efforts being made by the official brothers in the region and the international community to bring about durable peace to the country and the entire region and its emphasis on the importance of the presence of the cause of the people of the South in all phases of the comprehensive political process as per its special framework agreed by the political parties and endorsed by the outcomes of the GCC Consultations.

Furthermore, the meeting stood before an evaluation report on the work of the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the STC, the central bodies, the auxiliary commissions assisting the Presidium, and the local leadership executive bodies in the governorates and districts of the South for the third quarter of the current year 2023, submitted by the Institutional Development Commission, which includes an analytical assessment of the work of the bodies and achieved activities during the aforementioned period, in addition to the positives achieved, shortcomings, and suggestions for further improvement and development in light of the evaluative results.

The meeting lauded the great effort made to complete the report, asserting commitment to the tasks and competencies organizing the work of each body and the need to address shortcomings, prevent duplication in implementing activities and their quality, assess their effectiveness, and measure their political and societal impact.

To the end of the meeting, the Presidium discussed a range of topics related to the daily lives of citizens and a number of organizational topics related to the work of the central and local bodies of the STC and took the appropriate measures.
